Kingston University – Seething Wells & Kingston Hill Campuses

Project Description

Operating within a live campus environment, the Kingston University works at Seething Wells and Kingston Hill supported the delivery of new student accommodation at one of the UK’s most established universities in Kingston upon Thames. Secured through a long-standing relationship with Equans, T & T Roofing Limited delivered this package over 68 weeks, completing in July 2022, with a contract value of £150,000 across approximately 770 m².

The roofing scope was delivered using Langley Waterproofing Systems, incorporating flame-free SBS bituminous felt and tapered insulation to achieve the required falls and thermal performance without introducing hot works risk. The live university setting demanded careful planning around access, restricted working areas, and phased deliveries, with close attention to safety and housekeeping to maintain an appropriate environment for staff and students.

A key project constraint was the requirement for flame-free application due to heightened health and safety considerations associated with an operational campus and occupied surroundings. T & T Roofing Limited’s site management approach focused on sequencing, risk control and quality assurance to maintain progress without compromising standards. The completed roofing system provides a durable, technically compliant envelope suitable for student residential use, demonstrating the company’s capability to deliver safely and efficiently on sensitive, live environments under tight programme conditions.
